Phish is back, and it is good

It is with tremendous pleasure that we write this post. As many of you may have already heard, or seen first hand, the long-touring, always wonderful, glad to have you back band Phish has decided that they have taken a sufficient hiatus. They are back, and it is good.

Many of us here have been long time Phans and could not be happier to see a robust Summer tour afloat as well. It was disappointing, yet not surprising, that tickets for their welcome back show at Hampton was sold out and selling for thousands of dollars in some cases. To this end we were unable, as were many, to get tickets to the show. In a tremendous act of generosity, and a feat unto itself from a production standpoint I am sure, they released the shows practically in real time for those of us not fortunate enough to hold a ticket.

Not surprising we had the shows on our computers and playing immediately.

Although you can purchase much higher quality versions of the shows including a CD as well, the free MP3s (super high res 256 bit nonetheless) were a tremendous gift to open in the days following the show. Aside from telling the world just how much we love the band, we write this today to thank them as well for being do damn nice.

On a note regarding the show, they were surprisingly tight and polished in our opinion. In almost all cases it didn’t appear as though there were any hiatus at all. The set lists were fantastic, and long. They absolutely gave the crowd their money’s worth. These have, as previously mentioned, been on repeat for a bit now.

We would love to hear your stories from the show if you were there. We look forward to reporting back this summer when we do attend a few of the shows.
