Pretty, but can’t refill

I think I got a defective one…. I tried filling this lighter for the first time with butane following the directions on the website, but even after troubleshooting (turning the flame down and letting air out) and bringing to a local smoke shop, the butane would spray out and not fill the lighter. I also tried different tips. It sparks but I haven’t been able to get a flame :(
